Former minister Isa Pantami raises N50 million to save the five abducted sisters in Abuja

Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami, has raised funds to support the parents of the five sisters kidnapped in Bwari Area Council of Abuja, seeking their release from abductors.

The abduction included the gruesome killing of Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, a 400-level student of biological science at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. Her sisters, Najeebah (500 level, Quantity Surveying) and Nadheerah (300 level, Zoology), were also taken.

The gunmen released the father but demanded a N60 million ransom for the daughters’ release. Insufficient funds led to the killing of Najeebah, prompting Pantami to mobilize additional financial support.

On his verified “X” page, Pantami expressed sorrow over Najeebah’s death, mentioned his disapproval of paying ransom, and confirmed arranging for immediate payment of the remaining N50 million.

He conveyed an acquaintance’s willingness to contribute the outstanding amount directly to the father’s account. Pantami also urged continued donations for the family’s medical expenses and prayed for the rescue of the remaining kidnapped sisters, as well as improvement in Nigeria’s security situation.
