AC Milan has taken a significant stride towards bidding farewell to the iconic San Siro stadium by acquiring land for their new home, a source close to the matter confirmed on Friday. The club, which currently shares the historic stadium with city rivals Inter Milan, has secured a sizable 256,000 square meter plot in the San Donato municipality, situated southeast of the city and approximately 15 kilometers away from the San Siro.
Negotiations between AC Milan and the local authorities in San Donato are expected to ramp up next week, as discussions enter a crucial phase regarding potential building permits. This move signifies the club’s determination to forge ahead with plans for a fresh stadium, marking a significant chapter in AC Milan’s storied history.
