A 19-year-old student tragically took their own life by jumping from a hostel building at a university in Uttar Pradesh.

A police report on Monday revealed that a 19-year-old student reportedly died by suicide, having jumped from the hostel building of a private university. The tragic incident occurred around 11.45 pm on Sunday at Meerut’s Subharti University hostel, according to Station House Officer (SHO) Prajant Tyagi.

Identified as Shashi Ranjan Kumar, the student hailed from Bihar’s Sitamarhi district. He was admitted to Subharti Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Monday, as per information provided by SHO Prajant Tyagi.

Shashi Ranjan Kumar was a first-year BCA student, and despite investigations, no suicide note was discovered in his room.

Prajant Tyagi noted that, based on initial findings, the incident appears to be linked to a love affair. Shashi Ranjan Kumar’s family has been notified, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Tragically, this event follows another incident on Saturday, where Shivam, a second-year B.Tech student at MIT College, Partapur Bypass, was discovered hanging from the fan in his room. Shivam, too, was a resident of Bihar.
