The British High Commission in Nigeria has joyously received 178 outstanding scholars and fellows who have successfully completed their studies through the esteemed Chevening and Commonwealth United Kingdom scholarships. These scholars have pursued a diverse array of master’s degrees, fellowships, and PhD programs.
The disclosure was made in a statement provided to our correspondent by Atinuke Akande-Alegbe, the Senior Communications and Public Diplomacy Officer of the British High Commission in Abuja, on Friday.
Both the Chevening and Commonwealth Scholarships are bestowed upon individuals who exhibit remarkable intellectual prowess, leadership potential, and a dedicated commitment to the advancement of their home country.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary last year, the Chevening Scholarship program has, over four decades, awarded scholarships to 1,500 Nigerians, enabling them to pursue higher education in the UK.
