Zamfara State Transport Agency intercepted 50 trucks destined for Niger Republic, loaded with essential food supplies, in adherence to a presidential directive aimed at alleviating food scarcity. These trucks, laden with assorted grains, were halted as part of the government’s initiative to combat hoarding and address the pressing food crisis.
President Bola Tinubu recently issued orders for key security officials to collaborate with state governors in tackling hoarding, amidst concerns over escalating transportation costs and security threats hampering agricultural activities. This directive follows a meeting between the President and governors in Abuja, where the current food crisis, exacerbated by rising fuel prices and security challenges, was discussed extensively.
