A 25-year-old man named Abba Ibrahim has been apprehended by the Kano State Police Command following allegations that he fatally stabbed 22-year-old Zaharadeen Iliyasi in the neck with a knife, resulting in his demise. This development was disclosed in a statement on Monday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Gumel, swiftly issued orders to block all entry and exit points in the state to prevent the suspect from fleeing. The altercation between the two friends reportedly occurred at Chiranci Dorayi Quarters in Kano, leading to the tragic outcome.
According to the statement, Zaharaddeen Iliyasu succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital in Kano. Meanwhile, Abba Garba Ibrahim, the alleged perpetrator, was apprehended by police operatives as he attempted to flee to the Niger Republic.
