President Bola Tinubu has condemned the bomb attacks in the Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, which resulted in numerous casualties. The attack, carried out by a young female suicide bomber during a wedding ceremony in Tashan Mararaba, Gwoza, killed at least 18 people and injured many others. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, transporting the wounded to hospitals in Gwoza.
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu described the attacks as desperate acts of terror, highlighting the pressure on terrorists and the successes in degrading their capabilities. He emphasized that those responsible for such violence would be punished, and his administration would not allow the nation to descend into fear and chaos.
The President assured that his government is taking necessary measures to protect citizens and ensure that perpetrators of violence are dealt with. He extended his condolences to the victims, their families, and the people of Borno State, reiterating his commitment to enhancing national security and stability.
