Peter Obi condoles with Na’Abba family
Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, expressed condolences during his visit to the family of the late House of Representatives Speaker, Ghali Na’Abba, who passed away on Wednesday after a prolonged illness.
Na’Abba had represented the Kano Municipal Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 1999 to 2003.
While in Kano for the condolence visit on Saturday, Obi spoke warmly about the deceased, characterizing him as a distinguished individual who had made significant contributions to the consolidation of the emerging democracy in Nigeria.
He emphasized Na’Abba’s role in the collective effort to build a better Nigeria, acknowledging the challenges of filling the void left by such influential figures in the country.
Obi praised Na’Abba’s virtues and highlighted his commitment to advancing legislative independence during his tenure as the Speaker of the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
The LP presidential candidate reflected on the importance of individuals like Na’Abba who actively participated in shaping the nation’s democratic landscape.
Additionally, Peter Obi called for unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, emphasizing the need to foster harmony regardless of ethnic or religious differences.
In doing so, he echoed the values that Na’Abba upheld during his political career, promoting a vision of a cohesive and tolerant society.
