On Monday, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Anambra State launched an intensive display of force, deploying extensively to key areas prone to unrest throughout the state. Olatunde Maku, the state commandant of NSCDC, emphasized that the primary goal of this operation is to safeguard the lives and possessions of residents.
Highlighting the significance of protecting vital national assets, NSCDC reiterated that these measures are part of ongoing efforts to bolster security and instill confidence in the populace amidst the anti-sit-at-home campaign. Maku elaborated that the increased presence of personnel and heightened patrols aim to ensure the safety of Anambra’s populace, allowing them to pursue their lawful activities without fear on Mondays.
