On Thursday, the Kano State Fire Service conducted a successful rescue operation, saving a 37-year-old man named Saifullah Rabiu who was in the midst of attempting suicide by hanging from a tree. Rabiu’s suicide note revealed that he was grappling with a significant debt of N2 million, incurred for the payment of a visa.
Saminu Abdullahi, the spokesperson for the State Fire Service, officially confirmed the incident in a statement provided to the media. In the statement, Abdullahi disclosed that the Central Control Room received an emergency call at approximately 10:07 am from the Ministry of Works and Housing, Kano State. The call reported a rescue incident unfolding at the State Road near Nassarawa Emir’s house, prompting the swift response of the Kano State Fire Service to prevent the tragic outcome.
