During a recent gathering in Kano, Retired Air Vice Marshall Haruna Mohammed, the North West zonal coordinator of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW), announced the retrieval of 20,000 small arms and 60,000 units of ammunition across Nigeria.
Mohammed emphasized the center’s commitment to eliminating arms proliferation, highlighting their successful recovery efforts employing both kinetic and non-kinetic methods. Urging stakeholders to join forces in tackling insecurity linked to the spread of small arms and light weapons, Mohammed emphasized the importance of collective support for the center’s mission.
