Customs Auction Confiscated Food Items

The Nigeria Customs Service, under the directive of President Bola Tinubu, has initiated the sale of seized food items to help alleviate hunger nationwide. Comptroller General Adewale Adeniyi announced this during a session at the House of Representatives, alongside Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari.

Adeniyi stated that locally produced seized food items will be sold directly to vulnerable Nigerians, with the aim of addressing food scarcity. Additionally, imported food items seized by the Customs Service will be reintroduced into local markets for resale to the public.
