The Police Service Commission disclosed on Thursday its partnership with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to conduct a computer-based test for 171,956 shortlisted applicants in the police recruitment process. Following the successful completion of credentials verification and physical screening, this step aims to further assess the candidates’ suitability for the role. Ikechukwu Ani, the PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, conveyed in a statement that the JAMB CBT is slated for March 5, 2024, spanning all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Notably, the initiative garnered significant interest, with a total of 547,774 individuals submitting applications for the police job upon the opening of the application portal in October 2023, as reported by The PUNCH. This move underscores the rigorous selection process undertaken by the Police Service Commission to ensure the recruitment of qualified and capable candidates to serve in law enforcement roles across the nation.
