The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has announced that the 2024 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024. This announcement comes as candidates eagerly prepare for this crucial academic assessment.
In response to numerous inquiries from candidates and the public, JAMB clarified that candidates taking the Mock-UTME will be permitted to bring ordinary HB pencils for numerical analysis into the examination hall. Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the JAMB spokesperson, emphasized the importance of this clarification to dispel any confusion regarding the use of HB pencils as writing materials during the exam.
Dr. Benjamin further explained that while the Board had previously prohibited the use of certain materials due to concerns about potential misuse, it has now approved the use of ordinary HB pencils for both the Mock-UTME and the main examination scheduled to commence on Friday, April 19, 2024. Candidates are reminded to adhere strictly to the guidelines, bringing only one pencil to their respective examination centers and refraining from possessing any other prohibited items as specified by JAMB regulations, which include electronic devices, calculators, and reading materials, among others.
