Fans are grieving the loss of veteran Nollywood actor Amaechi Muonagor, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 61. Known for his humorous roles on screen, Muonagor battled kidney disease for some time before his death.
On social media, fans expressed their sadness over the passing of the beloved actor. The Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, could not be reached for immediate comments.
Reports indicate that Muonagor suffered from kidney failure and required dialysis. Just days before his death, a viral video showed the actor appealing for financial assistance to undergo a kidney transplant, highlighting the challenges of healthcare in Nigeria.
The news of Muonagor’s demise follows closely after the recent death of Nollywood actor John Okafor, also known as Mr Ibu. Nigerians are mourning the loss of these iconic figures and calling for improvements in the country’s healthcare system to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
